#NOGOODWAY

motionball is working to promote positivity and inclusion, demonstrating that there is #NoGoodWay to use the “r-word” (retard). This word is hurtful, outdated, and brings back memories of being bullied and excluded for individuals with intellectual disabilities.

As motionballers, we are proud ambassadors of the #NoGoodWay campaign. Learn more and take the pledge at motionball.com/nogoodway.

motionball is proud to donate 70% of the funds raised from this event to Special Olympics Alberta. This funding is directed to support programs for local athletes in the community. 25% is directed to the Special Olympics Canada Foundation, whose mission is to ensure the long-term financial integrity of the Special Olympics movement in Canada and to fund long term athlete and volunteer growth. The remaining 5% will help grow the #NoGoodWay Campaign aiming to end the use of the R-word (retard) in everyday conversation. 2024 MOTIONBALL EDMONTON:
POSTPONED - MARCH 22, 2025

MARATHON OF SPORT EDMONTON

presented by PCL

NEW DATE: MARCH 22, 2025

THE EDMONTON EXPO CENTRE

Update from the motionball Edmonton Committee:

After thoughtful consideration and planning, we are postponing the event to March 22, 2025.

Why do we feel this is the best decision for motionball Edmonton?

  1. State of Emergency in Alberta: The recent wildfires in Jasper have deeply affected our community, and many of our friends and families are in need of support. By postponing the event, we can focus our immediate efforts on providing the necessary aid and resources to those affected. This will also allow our community to heal and come together stronger than ever.
  2. With the help of our Presenting Sponsor, PCL – we have identified an exciting opportunity to collaborate with another event, maximizing our impact and resources. By uniting our planning committees, we are set to create a truly extraordinary and successful event. We can’t wait to share more about it!

Next Steps:

  • We hope you will save our new date – March 22, 2025 at the Expo Centre
  • If you are unable to join us March 22nd, please click here to connect with our Team
  • We look forward to hosting motionball classes at local fitness studies and other opportunities for our community to connect this Fall – follow @motionballYEG to stay tuned for more info

Registration remains open! We are excited about the new possibilities and the opportunity to create an even more impactful experience for you and your teammates!

Thank you for your understanding and ongoing support of motionball! Together, we will continue to build a more inclusive Edmonton!  See you March 22nd!

Join us on March 22, 2025 at The Edmonton Expo Centre for the 2025 motionball Marathon of Sport Edmonton presented by PCL!

WHY YOUR SUPPORT MATTERS

As one of Special Olympics Canada’s largest funding partners, and with local fundraising initiatives on hold, Special Olympics athletes need our support more than ever.

For many of them, Special Olympics is not just about sport, or staying fit and healthy, but also about providing a social network, a sense of belonging and a valuable source of stability – all essential to their mental and physical health.

The funds we have raised in the past have already helped Special Olympic chapters in pivoting to a virtual model that supports athletes’ physical and mental health.

Our goal for this year is to raise the important funds needed in order to ensure that all Special Olympics programs can return stronger than ever, and that no athlete is left behind.

We hope to see you on September 26th!

motionball is proud to donate 70% of the funds raised from this event to local Special Olympics communities. We’re encouraging Canadians to make the choice to eliminate the R-word from their vocabulary and empower them to take #NoGoodWay to their circles of influence.
