As restrictions begin to ease, we’re so excited to announce that the motionball Marathon of Sport Toronto will return on September 25th, 2021 with the Challenge 21 edition!

This year’s event will have all the same elements of a traditional Marathon of Sport that you know and love but instead of hitting the playing field for a day of sports, we’ll be travelling through downtown Toronto visiting checkpoints and completing activities along the way!

Think scavenger hunt x escape room x amazing race with a motionball twist and you’ve got our Marathon of Sport Toronto: Challenge 21!

What can you expect?

  • On Sept. 25th, participants will check-in at our home base at RendezViews in Toronto for the Opening Ceremonies and to pick up your Team kit including your motionball hat, t-shirt and mask!
  • From here, Teams will have up to 3 hours to complete 21 challenges
  • These challenges will take participants on a 5km journey through downtown Toronto
  • Join us back at RendezViews at 1PM for our official After Party & social with DJ DXB

motionball remains committed to the health and safety of our participants, volunteers and Special Olympics athletes. We will ensure this year’s event aligns with local public health guidelines and the Special Olympics Ontario return-to-play guidelines.

Standard Team: As a Standard Team, you and your teammates will each donate $50 to register and work together to reach your Team fundraising goal of $3,000. Refund your registration and play for free when you reach your individual fundraising goal of $250!

Corporate: As a Corporate Team, your organization will donate $5,000, waiving the $50 registration fee and inviting your employees to participate at no cost.

This day not only brings awareness to the Special Olympics movement, but allows people with and without intellectual disabilities to integrate with their peers, build lifelong friendships, and ultimately create more inclusive communities.

By entering a Team, you will also help to ensure our friends at Special Olympics Ontario have the resources they need to stay active at home and in-person when they can safely return to the sport programs they love.

motionball is a national non-profit organization that empowers the next generation of Canadians to be leaders in their communities, raising funds and awareness for Special Olympics through inclusive social and sporting events. At motionball Toronto, we’re working to ensure that individuals with intellectual disabilities living in Toronto are included, supported, and celebrated.

motionball events put the fun back into giving, in Toronto and across Canada.

This year in particular, Special Olympics athletes need us more than ever as many remain isolated and alone, at a greater risk of contracting COVID-19 than the general population. Join us in raising funds and awareness for the cause so that Special Olympics sport programs can return with strength, and that no athlete is left behind.

motionball is working to promote positivity and inclusion, demonstrating that there is #NoGoodWay to use the “r-word” (retard). This word is hurtful, outdated, and brings back memories of being bullied and excluded for individuals with intellectual disabilities.

As motionballers, we are proud ambassadors of the #NoGoodWay campaign. Learn more and take the pledge at

motionball is proud to donate 70% of the funds raised from motionball Toronto events to Special Olympics Ontario. This funding is directed to support programs for local athletes in the community. 25% is directed to the Special Olympics Canada Foundation, whose mission is to ensure the long-term financial integrity of the Special Olympics movement in Canada and to fund long term athlete and volunteer growth. The remaining 5% will help grow the #NoGoodWay Campaign aiming to end the use of the R-word (retard) in everyday conversation. We’re encouraging Canadians to make the choice to eliminate the R-word from their vocabulary and empower them to take #NoGoodWay to their circles of influence.

motionball’s mandate is to introduce the next generation of volunteers and donors to the Special Olympics movement through integrated social and sporting events. motionball now hosts 50+ annual events in 27 cities across Canada. motionball is proud to have donated $14M to the Special Olympics Canada Foundation since our inception in 2002.
