Join us on September 16th at Revelstoke Secondary for a fun-filled day of sports alongside local Special Olympics athletes from our community!

What is Marathon of Sport?

We’re bringing athletes of all abilities together on the playing field. Teams of up to 10 will be joined by 1-2 local Special Olympics athletes and together they will participate in a variety of sports and activities all while raising funds and awareness in support of the Special Olympics Canada Foundation.

While fundraising is one of our goals, Marathon of Sport is about so much more. This day not only brings awareness to the Special Olympics movement, but allows people with and without intellectual disabilities to interact, build lifelong friendships, and ultimately create more inclusive communities.

From Sponsorship to Participation or Volunteering, there are many ways to get involved for 2023!

There are 3 ways that you can register to participate at Marathon of Sport Revelstoke:

Standard Team: As a Standard Team, you and your teammates will each donate $50 to register and work together to reach your Team fundraising goal of $1,000. Refund your registration and play for free when you reach your individual fundraising goal of $100!

Corporate: As a Corporate Team, your organization will donate $1,000, waiving the $50 registration fee and inviting your employees to participate at no cost. This is a great employee engagement and Team Building activity while supporting an important cause. Your organization will also receive online and onsite logo recognition, along with all of the items listed above for your entire Team!

Free Agents: Sign up as an Individual or with a friend and we’ll add you to a team with other incredible motionball supporters!

motionball is working to promote positivity and inclusion, demonstrating that there is #NoGoodWay to use the “r-word” (retard). This word is hurtful, outdated, and brings back memories of being bullied and excluded for individuals with intellectual disabilities.

As motionballers, we are proud ambassadors of the #NoGoodWay campaign. Learn more and take the pledge at

motionball is proud to donate 70% of the funds raised from motionball Edmonton events to Special Olympics Alberta. This funding is directed to support programs for local athletes in the community. 25% is directed to the Special Olympics Canada Foundation, whose mission is to ensure the long-term financial integrity of the Special Olympics movement in Canada and to fund long term athlete and volunteer growth. The remaining 5% will help grow the #NoGoodWay Campaign aiming to end the use of the R-word (retard) in everyday conversation. We’re encouraging Canadians to make the choice to eliminate the R-word from their vocabulary and empower them to take #NoGoodWay to their circles of influence.

motionball’s mandate is to introduce the next generation of volunteers and donors to the Special Olympics movement through integrated social and sporting events. motionball now hosts 50+ annual events in 18 cities across Canada. motionball is proud to have donated $17M to the Special Olympics Canada Foundation since our inception in 2002.
